Testimony Tuesday- Joyce Heatherington

The Testimony of Joyce Heatherington:

Growing up I remember saying the Salvation prayer here and there, not completly understanding what it meant, it just felt like something to say because everyone else was.

I grew up in a Christian home, yet I knew deep down that I was not a believer. That was until my 8th grade Junior High Youth Group Retreat 1993. I will never forget this life changing experience!

It was Spring Break and our Youth Retreat at Camp Tadmor when I became a Christian. I remember hearing the guest speaking sharing about how the Lord will never leave you or forsake you.  Not having many friends if at all, I knew it was an added benefit of becoming a believer.

After the Youth Retreat I told my parents and those I knew about becoming a Christian. Shortly after I did a Bible Study with my parents that my Dad had written.

One of the first verses I memorized was Romas 8:1, "Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." This is one verse that has stuck with me all these years and will stay with me forever!
