Making it Through Frustration

March 2018,

I am laid up in bed as I write this. It is the weekend and I am stuck in bed. I woke up and showered and laid back down for a few. I went to hang up my towel and made it as far as the door of our bedroom.  I instantly felt a sharp pain in the right side of my abdomen, felt weak and dizzy. My legs stopped working and I got the feeling that occurs right before you are about to faint. Thankfully I didn't faint and thankfully my Husband was home to help me back to bed. I had my boots on so we were able to shuffle my body from side to side and slide me back to the bed. He had to take the boots off and lift my legs into bed...
Hello Saturday Morning!

Frustration:
1. The feeling of being upset or annoyed, especially because of inability to change or achieve.
2. the prevention of the progress, success or fulfillment of something.

For the past couple of weeks I have had strong feelings of frustration rising within me. More than normal. Not really feeling upset or annoyed per se but more of being sad with the prevention of progress, success or fulfillment of something(s). (The second definition). There are a lot of things I want to do each day. I have passions and goals deep in my heart but I lack energy and dealing with chronic pain and chronic fatigue every day prevent me from going, going, going.

The prime source of my frustration has been the chronic debilitating fatigue. You may be thinking oh it would be great to be laid up in bed or on the couch with full access to Netflix when you are really tired. But imagine for a moment and add deep achy pain through out your entire body, extreme pain to the touch, your brain not processing or recalling information (also known as brain fog) and your body deciding it doesn't want to walk so you either waddle like a pregnant women, shuffle your body from side to side or get a ride in your husbands rolling computer chair.

...

I wrote the above back in March of this year. It is June now and I am just now finishing up this blog post. I have had a rough couple of months and I have had this post in the back of mind but haven't had the mental energy to work on it.  Lots of frustrating moments and even being frustrated about not being able to get on here and finish this post. Can anyone relate?

So what do we do with the frustration? Ultimately, I have learned that frustration is just another opportunity to trust God to make it through the current situation.

How to deal with Frustration:

1. Breathe. Take a deep belly breath in and breath out slowly.

2. Regroup. Take a step back and evaluate the situation. Observe what is really going on. Am I tired? Am I hungry? Do I need to take a break? Do I need to wait it out for another day?

3. Process your emotions: Talk to God and tell him all your Frustration. Tell Him what you are upset about, annoyed or sad about. He already know what you are thinking and feeling so might as well pray about it all. Just talk to God about what you are feeling.

4. Try to see what the root of the frustration may be: Ask God for strength to endure and to reveal what you are really upset about.

5. Pray through your frustrations with Scripture. What are some verses that apply to what you are going through?

6.  Remember your worth is in God not in what you can or cannot do.

7. Use this as an opportunity Trust God with your life.

Guess what the opposite of frustration is? You got it! Support, help, encouragement, assistance, success, happiness. Good things can come out of frustration, always remember that!

God, I am frustrated... but I trust you.
By saying and believing this we leave the outcome to God and we can seek out the positives of the situation. We know God is going to see us through what ever we are dealing with so we can better enjoy the here and now. This can bring us the peace we are needing in our hearts.

I looked up a bunch of verses when I was laid up in bed. What does the Bible have to say about being frustrated. There is a lot of good verses. I encourage you to look them up. This one stood out because It is my favorite verse!

Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Isaiah 41:10

Are you experiencing any frustrations in your life right now? How about in the past? How did you deal with it? Did you learn anything from the experience?

Dear Lord, Thank you that you are all powerful. The enemy has no power over me and cannot frustrate your good plans or promised protection for me. Thank you that I can whole heartedly trust you in the midst of any frustrations that may come my way. Help me to find the joy and positives of each day of my life.

Remember God is always with you and will strengthen you to walk through any frustration you may face in this life!

Love and Prayers ❤

I think it is deep frustration that causes my fibro flares. It puts me over an edge I cannot come back from. Ugh. I'm getting help. Not gonna try to do this alone!
